The Philadelphia Story Lighting Design
Nathan Schroeder
Clayton Community Theatre presented The Philadelphia Story in March 2020, for
which I received a Theater Mask Award for Outstanding Lighting Design from Arts
for Life.
Scenes in the play take place variously in a lavish mansion in daytime, and in the garden in the evening.
- For the daytime, my lighting design included chandeliers, sunlight coming in the windows, and a rich wash overall.
- for the garden, we incorporated one of the same chandeliers but now seen through a window from outside, and sunset highlighting a textured rock wall, as well as leaf textures overall.
