West End Players Guild presented Silent Sky in February 2018, for which I was nominated for a St. Louis Theatre Circle award for Outstanding Lighting Design.
The set had a rear projection screen (projections designed by Ben Lewis, not by me), which challenged my lighting design to avoid throwing light on the screen. In addition, in several scenes the cast held up screens above their heads, which required careful lighting to keep shadows off their faces. Various scenes occupied the entire stage, or featured one person speaking directly to the audience outside of any time or place, with a final tableau combining one such speaker with four other characters present in spirit.
